Chicano culture took hold in Japan in the 1980s and continues to grow with contributions from people such as Shin Miyata, Junichi Shimodaira, Miki Style, Night Tha Funksta, and MoNa . The AGIF’s first campaign was on the behalf of Felix Longoria, a Mexican American private who was killed in the Philippines while in the line of duty.
